在Substack上撰写的文章往往过于冗长，而且网站并不支持所有的Markdown功能，这让我想起了Medium。在Medium上，人们多年来一直要求能够在文章中包含代码块，但Medium直到太晚才添加了这个功能。在此之前，我们实际上不得不为每段想要添加到文章中的代码创建Github gists。

So many articles appear on Substack but the quality isn't great all the time. the website keeps showing banners to subscribe. in fact, they black out the article as you scroll down so you enter your email first. subscribing to an author is not a one-click thing either—you will be bombarded with several questions afterwards because the website tries to get you to subscribe to several other authors as well, and it makes it hard to not pay for the said subscription.<p>articles written on Substack are often too lengthy, and the website doesn't support all markdown features, which reminds me of Medium. on Medium, people asked for years to be able to include code blocks in their articles, but Medium only added that feature when it was too late. before that, we literally had to make Github gists for every piece of code we wanted to add to our article.
