We talk a lot about sustainability, usually focusing on things like renewable energy and efficient gadgets. These are fine, but they miss the point. The real problem isn't just how we produce things, but why we produce so much in the first place. We need to rethink the whole idea of "progress."<p>Consider the obsession with economic growth. It's treated as a universal good, but what does it actually deliver? More stuff, sure, but also more pollution, more inequality, and more stress. Maybe the goal shouldn't be endless expansion, but something else entirely. Maybe we should be aiming for stability, resilience, or even just plain old contentment.<p>Ultimately, sustainability isn't about finding clever ways to keep the current system running. It's about questioning the system itself. It's about recognizing that endless growth on a finite planet is a fantasy. It's about facing some uncomfortable truths and making some hard choices.
